I got booked in Lille France and it was me, SLB and a load of guys from Kool FM so that was the first time I met the legend that is Eastman as well as the first time I met DJ Ital, DJ Probe, MC IC3, Shockin B and the rest is history. Carrying on from the Fabric bookings being a turning point for me, promoters from all around the world would come to London to book fabric artists and that’s what happened for me. Tell us about your first overseas booking?Ī. MC Convention which was also promoted by Paul Ibiza in conjunction with MC Shabba D also booked J Swif as resident at national event. J Swif later went on to become a resident at Paul Ibiza’s (Ibiza / Kemet Records) Jungle Splash with Junior Buzz , DJ Runtingz and MC Junior Dangerous, 5ive-0. Hailing from South London, J Swif began as an MC in 1994 at the age of 15 hosting DJ Dreamchild’s Happy hardcore Sunday show on London’s Hart Fm 90.4 which was run by DJ Mad Ash who later went on to found Face FM and pioneering Internet radio InterFace.Īt the time J Swif also regularly performed on the Junior Buzz Drum & Bass show on Hart FM with MC Wicked and UK Garage legend MC Kie as well as many venues around London such as the Chunnel Club, the gardening club and GC2.
